Conduct in the hearing room

The People's Family Court is a private family-mediation service, not a court of law.

One standard, applied equally to both parents, visible on screen throughout. This protects you both — a mute is never personal; it is how the mediator keeps the hearing fair and calm.

  1. Reminder — a private nudge: the ground rule restated kindly, hearing continues.
  2. Warning — named on the record: what happened, what must change, what follows.
  3. Mute — the mediator mutes the microphone, logged with the stated reason and timestamp.
  4. Removal + adjourn — moved to the waiting room until calm, then a documented re-admit or adjourn decision.

Every step is timestamped in the minutes. Repeated removals trigger a case review of whether the joint process still suits. Threats, abuse, or suspected coaching pause the hearing immediately. You may always request a 5-minute break instead of boiling over — asking early is strength, not weakness.
